The United States is on the verge of falling off the so-called fiscal cliff, and nobody is paying attention to what's causing all the chaos, Georgetown Law professor Louis Michael Seidman argues in The New York Times.Oddly enough, Seidman, who spends his days teaching Constitutional law, blames the U.S. Constitution for the partisan gridlock that's screwing up the country.
In his provocatively titled op-ed "Let's Give Up on the Constitution," he even suggests that we start ignoring the Constitution because many of its provisions are arbitrary and even disruptive.
Just last week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell asserted that the House couldn't consider a Senate plan on tax cuts because the Constitution says such "revenue provisions" must start in the House and not the Senate.
This type of strict adherence to the Constitution makes Seidman wonder why dead white men who thought it was fine to own slaves should get to decide the fate of our Congressional negotiations.
"Instead of arguing about what is to be done, we argue about what James Madison might have wanted done 225 years ago," he wrote.
Seidman acknowledges his views might seem radical. But, he pointed out, John Adams supported the Alien and Sedition Acts, which violated the First Amendment. And Thomas Jefferson himself thought the Constitution should expire after one generation.
Seidman probably isn't in very good company now, though. Judges and regular citizens are too attached to many of the rights the Constitution gives us like freedom of speech and even the right to bear arms.
The Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw might have come the closest to echoing Seidman's sentiments about the 225-year-old document.
"I told you what to do, and you haven't done it," Shaw said in a 1931 newsreel. "I told you that what you had to do in this country was to abolish your Constitution, which was preventing you from doing anything."

The Eagles had just caught lightning in a bottle with the resurrection of Michael Vick? into one of the NFL?s most dynamic quarterbacks. Reid had won his seventh NFC East title, and although the Eagles had lost a first-round playoff game to eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay, the organization appeared headed in the right direction.
Then Reid?s world fell apart.
The man who had benefitted from so many good decisions in his first dozen years made one poor judgment call after another. Instead of making another Super Bowl run, the Eagles spiraled downward and missed the postseason in each of the next two years, leaving owner Jeffrey Lurie no choice but to dismiss Reid with one year left on the coach?s contract.
How did the Reid empire fall so quickly and so profoundly? Here is a look back at the sequence of mishaps and mistakes from the end of the 2010 season that led to the end of his era.
1. Jan. 19, 2011
Reid names Jim Washburn defensive line coach
You can argue that Reid shouldn?t have fired defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, but changes were necessary. The Eagles had set a club record for passing touchdowns allowed (31) and had finished with the NFL?s worst red-zone efficiency (77 percent) in decades.
Reid had made up his mind before firing McDermott that his defensive scheme would change from the aggressive blitzing preached by the late Jim Johnson (and carried on by McDermott) to softer coverage with more pressure from the front four. He just needed someone who could coax more sacks from the defensive line.
Enter Washburn.
Reid convinced the organization to spend big bucks on the free-agent defensive line coach whose trademark wide-nine scheme had annually produced some of the NFL?s most dominant front lines in Tennessee.
But Reid didn?t do his homework. In hiring Washburn, he brought in a polarizing figure who cared more about sacks than the overall state of the defense. Washburn essentially was given more power than anyone else on the defensive staff and leveraged that authority to coddle his lineman and handcuff his defensive coordinators.
It took more than two months of the 2011 season for the Eagles to understand how to defend the run behind the wide nine, but the damage had been done. The Eagles started 1-5 and missed the postseason despite sharing the NFL lead in sacks.
This past season, even the wide nine stopped producing results. The Eagles went three straight games without a sack -- losing all three -- and didn?t have more than three in a game until Week 15. Without steady pressure, the defense became more dysfunctional than ever.
Reid first cut Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Babin -- Washburn?s pet project -- and then fired the disruptive Washburn 12 games into the season and 28 games into Washburn?s tenure.
2. Feb. 2, 2011
Reid names Juan Castillo defensive coordinator, Howard Mudd offensive line coach
By hiring Washburn to implement an up-front scheme, Reid sidetracked his search to replace McDermott. He interviewed several candidates for the opening -- including Dennis Allen -- but the job was deemed less desirable for hot coaching commodities with Washburn?s scheme already set in stone.
With nowhere to go, Reid turned to his longtime offensive line coach, who for several years had lobbied for the job. Castillo had never coached defense in the NFL, and his inexperience couldn?t be masqueraded.
The Eagles blew fourth-quarter leads in three consecutive games and opened the 2011 season at 1-4. A four-game win streak in December highlighted by better defense proved to be a fluke this past season, when the Eagles blew leads in back-to-back games against the Steelers and Lions and fell to 3-3. Reid fired Castillo during the bye week and replaced him with secondary coach Todd Bowles. Reid would later suggest that he should have fired Washburn before Castillo.
Before he named Castillo as his defensive coordinator, Reid coaxed veteran offensive line coach Howard Mudd out of retirement and let Mudd have carte blanche over the offensive line the same way Washburn was granted control of the defensive line.
Mudd, whose zone blocking scheme is best carried out by smaller and more nimble linemen (or freaks of nature like Jason Peters), immediately benched veterans Jamaal Jackson and Winston Justice and got rid of key reserves Mike McGlynn, Austin Howard and A.Q Shipley.
Although his schemes helped left guard Evan Mathis and rookie center Jason Kelce emerge? and cleared the way for LeSean McCoy?s breakout 2011 season, they failed to keep Vick upright and well protected. Vick absorbed one crushing hit after another and regressed from an improving pocket passer into a turnover machine.
Injuries this season to Peters, Kelce, Watkins and right tackle Todd Herremans illustrated the difficulty in implementing such a unique scheme. Inadequate reserves such as King Dunlap, Dallas Reynolds and rookie Dennis Kelly were tossed into the fire, leading to another round of excessive hits on Vick and more turnover problems.
Meanwhile, Justice, McGlynn and Shipley each started for a playoff-bound Colts offensive line. Scott started at right tackle for the Jets.
3. April 22-24, 2010
Reid drafts Danny Watkins, Jaiquawn Jarrett and Curtis Marsh
A series of questionable personnel decisions forced the Eagles to shift draft philosophy in 2011, when they used a first-round pick on right guard Danny Watkins and a second-rounder on Temple safety Jaiquawn Jarrett.
They had banked on Watkins, a 26-year-old Canadian and football novice, to stop the right guard carousel that had resulted from the 2009 bust free-agent signing of Stacy Andrews, whose inability to cement the job led to Max Jean-Gilles' and Nick Cole's porous platoon on the right side.
Watkins, a former firefighter, had played left tackle for just two years in a highly simplified Baylor offense, making his transition to right guard in Mudd?s scheme an uneasy one. He struggled with Mudd?s abrasive coaching style and didn?t start until Week 5 of his rookie season. By then, the Eagles were 1-3 and already playing catch-up.
Reid had also decided before that draft -- which preceded free agency because of the lockout -- that he would let reliable veteran safety Quintin Mikell walk in free agency, leaving him with second-year pros Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman as his only options. Reid then reached in the second round for Jarrett to pair with Allen, who was coming off major knee surgery as a rookie.
Allen wasn?t close to 100 percent by the 2011 opener and Jarrett looked lost from the start. The team was forced to start Coleman and Jarrad Page -- a seventh-round pick and street free-agent signing -- for the first four games. Not surprisingly, the Eagles fielded one of the league?s worst defenses in the first six weeks, especially against the run, which played a major role in their 1-5 start.
The Eagles also got little contribution from third-round cornerback Curtis Marsh, who was stuck behind four other corners on the depth chart in 2011 and played only scarcely on defense in 2012.
Watkins was inconsistent this past season for his first six starts and then headed to the sideline with an ankle injury that Reid said dated back to college, provoking more questions about why the team would use a first-round pick on damaged goods. Watkins? ankle eventually healed, but he didn't start another game.
Jarrett gave an embarrassing effort in the preseason opener against the Steelers and was released on the roster cutdown date, once again leaving Reid to soldier on with Allen and Coleman as starters. Both safeties struggled throughout the season and neither is guaranteed to return in 2013. Marsh played sporadically in 2012 and made no significant contribution.
Reid was also victimized by the 2010 draft. Two of his first three picks -- Brandon Graham and Daniel Te?o-Nesheim -- weren?t even on the roster at the start of the year. Te?o-Nesheim was cut before the opener and signed to the practice squad before Tampa Bay signed him. Graham was still on the Physically Unable to Perform lost after undergoing microfracture surgery at the end of his rookie season. The ?10 draft also yielded fourth-rounders Trevard Lindley (cornerback) and Keenan Clayton (linebacker), neither of whom were around by the start of 2012.
4. July 29-31, 2011
Reid signs Nnamdi Asomugha, Cullen Jenkins, Jason Babin and Vince Young
For years, Reid had built his playoff teams around a nucleus of draft picks who were groomed and developed together at the NovaCare Complex. Outside of a few outcasts, the Eagles generally embraced the atmosphere of professionalism and competition that Reid worked hard to cultivate and preserve for his first 12 seasons.
Every year, Reid would sprinkle into his nucleus one or two marquee free-agent signings to help bolster the roster and strengthen an area of immediate need. In the summer of 2011, though, he permitted an unprecedented spree of free-agent signings by president Joe Banner and general Howie Roseman that brought in veterans Asomugha, Babin, Jenkins, Young and Ronnie Brown. He also approved of the trade that sent quarterback Kevin Kolb to Arizona for a second-round pick and Pro Bowl cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
The additions two Pro Bowl corners to ?complement? Asante Samuel for essentially two starting jobs immediately created an uncomfortable situation. Brown looked slow and lethargic from his first practice. Young?s ?Dream Team? comment haunted the Eagles for the entire 2011 season -- as did his play during a three-game stretch in place of an injured Vick.
Most of the free agents were either unfit for the scheme, past their primes or both. Leadership in the locker room -- rarely an issue pre-2011 -- proved to be lacking during the tough times. At times over the past two years the Eagles have been accused of quitting, lacking heart and devoid of the senior leadership that guys like Brian Dawkins, Jon Runyan, Tra Thomas, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook and Jeremiah Trotter had brought to Reid?s powerhouses in the early-to-mid 2000s.
5. Sept. 11, 2011:
Reid opens season with Casey Matthews at middle linebacker, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the slot and Moise Fokou at weak-side linebacker.
Throughout his career Reid has said his first priority as head coach is ensuring that his players are put in the best position to succeed. His personnel decisions going into 2011 reflected an entirely opposite approach.
After throwing boatloads of cash at defensive linemen and corners to spruce up his defense, Reid once again ignored his annual linebacker deficiency. He then saw fit to start rookie fourth-rounder Casey Matthews at middle linebacker, arguably the most important position on the defense.
Matthews, who had played outside linebacker at Oregon, was a disaster from the start. He was repositioned to the weak side after the season opener and then booted from the starting lineup altogether after Week 3. Reid also waited eight weeks to remove the struggling Moise Fokou in favor of Akeem Jordan, who?s bigger and a better fit behind the wide nine than Fokou.
There were other personnel decisions that were flawed from the start. Reid tried to accommodate his Pro Bowl cornerback trio by moving Asomugha around a la Charles Woodson and miscasting Cromartie as a nickel cornerback. Cromartie, whose strength is press coverage on the outside, struggled week after week against slot receivers on the inside while Joselio Hanson, one of the NFL?s best slot corners, watched from the sideline.
Even after dealing away Samuel before the 2012 season, the pairing of Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie still produced modest results. The wide nine is best carried in front of a zone scheme with sound tacklers at linebacker and defensive back, but Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie were career man-press corners who not only struggled with zone concepts but also were timid and unwilling tacklers.
The Eagles slogged through an eight-game stretch in 2012 in which they didn?t register an interception and allowed 19 touchdown passes. Reid finally made the right call on a linebacker after 2011, trading for two-time Pro Bowler DeMeco Ryans, but then allowed Castillo and Bowles to play second-round linebacker Mychal Kendricks at the strong side instead of the rookie?s more natural position on the weak side. Kendricks started off strong but wore down toward the middle of the season as the toll of shedding big offensive linemen and covering tight ends each week settled in.

That would honestly depend on what Customer Service tasks you would be working on. Not all Customer Service positions are the same and 99% will require different knowledge than a previous job you may have had. Being proficient is a great stepping stone for you. Some do not even have that.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? The State Department has issued a revised Haiti travel advisory, warning Americans planning to travel to the Caribbean island nation about robbery, lawlessness, infectious disease and poor medical facilities.
"U.S. citizens have been victims of violent crime, including murder and kidnapping, predominantly in the Port-au-Prince area. No one is safe from kidnapping, regardless of occupation, nationality, race, gender or age," the department said.
The new travel warning was released Friday to replace a less strongly worded advisory issued in June.
In recent months, travelers arriving in Port-au-Prince, the capital and largest city, on flights from the United States have been attacked and robbed after leaving the airport. This year, at least two U.S. citizens were shot and killed in robbery and kidnapping incidents, the State Department said.
"Haitian authorities have limited capacity to deter or investigate such violent acts or prosecute perpetrators," the department said.
The State Department also noted that while the incidents of cholera have declined, the disease persists in many areas of Haiti. Medical facilities, including ambulance services, are particularly weak.
"Thousands of U.S. citizens safely visit Haiti each year, but the poor state of Haiti's emergency response network should be carefully considered when planning travel. Travelers to Haiti are encouraged to use organizations that have solid infrastructure, evacuation and medical support options in place," the department said.

?Choose your car insurance option wisely
?Having a car simply means that you must have a car insurance coverage to protect yourself while on the road. However, with so many car insurance options available today, most car insurance policy buyers are not just confused but also find the options to overwhelming for them to make an informed choice. Things even gets trickier when the car owner gets to negotiate for insurance deductibles with the insurer career and even how much coverage is enough for his or her coverage needs. This can even be worse if you are new in the industry as shopping for the right cover is pretty hard. However, if you are facing such problems in your insurance life, you definitely do not have to worry so much as there are some guidelines to help you choose the best plan for you.
??????? First, knowing how much car insurance coverage you need is the most important thing towards choosing the best car insurance option. The value and cost of your car will play a major role in determining the amount of cover that is enough to cover you completely. If you are a teen driver, then you need to remember that your coverage plan will obviously be more expensive and you need to beware of this right from the word go.
??????? Determine your deductibles: choosing the best coverage for you requires that you are aware of the amount of deductible that is good for you. Whereas you might be tempted to opt for a higher deductible to lower your insurance cost, you also need to ensure that you will afford to pay such deductibles in case an accident happens.
??????? Examine your driving history: your driving record is a great determinant of the coverage plan suitable for you when shopping for a cover. If you had received some speeding tickets or had been involved in an accident in the past, you need to clear this with the state Department of Motor Vehicles to ensure that they do not get to disadvantage you as you search for a good plan.
??????? Search for cheap quotes: here, you need to start using the internet to shop for an affordable insurance plan from a reputable provider.
??????? Review your coverage contact: one of the biggest mistakes that car insurance buyers make is failing to review the contract before signing. However, if you need to be on the safe side, always ensure that you are really satisfied with the agreement before becoming a signatory to it.

Long before he put together a 9-2 record and earned a spot against Chris Leben at UFC 155, Derek Brunson was a cheerleader. As he shows in his audition video for "The Ultimate Fighter," Brunson was an accomplished tumbler and stunter. Skip to the 2:10 mark to see him toss his partner up into one-handed stunts and throw a double-twisting flip.
He talked about his cheerleading past with MMA Fighting, and pointed out how difficult cheerleading can be.
"I can do flips, and I was like tossing girls in the air. That's where I got my strength from, just controlling girls in the air. You get core strength, your chest gets all big. It makes you really strong, like you look on steroids, but you don't have to take steroids because of cheerleading."
Though Brunson wrestled in college, he said he did have scholarship offers for cheerleading. Wrestling and eventually MMA won out. Brunson admitted that MMA is more dangerous than cheerleading, but it's still tough.
"Cheerleading is definitely hard on your body. That's why I decided to wrestle in college, not cheerlead."

NEW YORK (AP) ? Police searched for a woman who killed a man by pushing him in front of a subway train and released surveillance video Friday of her running away from the station.
Commuters, meanwhile, absorbed the news of the second fatal subway shove in the city this month.
"It's just a really sad commentary on the world and on human beings, period," said Howard Roth, who takes the subway daily. He said the deadly push was food for thought about subway safety, "but I guess the best thing is what they tell you ? don't stand near the edge, and keep your eyes open."
The suspect in Thursday night's killing had been following the man closely on a Queens platform and mumbling to herself, witnesses told police. She got up from a nearby bench and shoved the man, who was standing with his back to her, as the train pulled into the platform. He was pinned under the train as it pulled to a stop, police said.
It did not appear the man noticed her before he was shoved onto the tracks, police said, adding that the condition of the man's body was making it difficult to identify him. The woman was described as Hispanic, in her 20s, heavyset and about 5-foot-5, wearing a blue, white and gray ski jacket and Nike sneakers with gray on top and red on the bottom.
It was unclear whether the man and the woman knew each other. And it's also unclear whether anyone tried to help the man up before he was struck ? or whether there was enough time for anyone to do anything.
The surveillance video was taken at a nearby intersection. It shows a woman dashing from a crosswalk and down a sidewalk.
Asked about the episode at the station on Queens Boulevard in the Sunnyside neighborhood, Mayor Michael Bloomberg pointed Friday to legal and policy changes that led to the release of many mentally ill people from psychiatric institutions from the 1960s through 1990s.
"The courts or the law have changed and said, no, you can't do that unless they're a danger to society; our laws protect you. That's fair enough," Bloomberg said on "The John Gambling Show with Mayor Mike" on WOR-AM.
On Dec. 3, 58-year-old Ki-Suck Han was pushed in front of a train in Times Square. Apparently no other passenger tried to help Han.
A photograph of him on the tracks a split second before he was killed was published on the front of the New York Post the next day, causing an uproar and debate over whether the photographer, who had been waiting for a train, should have tried to help him and whether the newspaper should have run the image.
A homeless man, 30-year-old Naeem Davis, was charged with murder in Han's death and was ordered held without bail. He has pleaded not guilty and has said that Han was the aggressor and had attacked him first. The two men hadn't met before.
Being pushed onto the train tracks is a silent fear for many commuters who ride the city's subway a total of more than 5.2 million times on an average weekday, but deaths are rare.
Among the more high-profile cases was the January 1999 death of aspiring screenwriter Kendra Webdale, who was shoved by a former mental patient. The man, Andrew Goldstein, was convicted of murder after unsuccessfully arguing he was too mentally ill to understand what he was doing.
The case prompted the state Legislature to pass Kendra's Law, which lets mental health authorities supervise patients who live outside institutions to make sure they are taking their medications and aren't threats to safety.
Earlier this year, restaurant cook Jose Rojas was convicted of assault for shoving a woman into the side of a moving train in 2010. His lawyers argued he simply stumbled into her in a drunken accident. The victim was seriously hurt but survived.
Like many subway riders, Micah Siegel follows her own set of safety precautions during her daily commute: stand against a wall or pillar to keep someone from coming up behind you, watch out when navigating a crowded or narrow platform to avoid being knocked ? even accidentally ? onto the tracks.
"I do try to be aware of what's around me and who's around me, especially as a young woman," Siegel, a 21-year-old college student, said as she waited at Pennsylvania Station on Friday.
So does Roth, who's 60.
"It sounds a little wimpy if you're like, 'Who's going to push me?' But it's better to be safe than sorry," he said.

When Michael Mosley?s Horizon TV programme about the 5-2 Diet first aired, some months ago now I watched, fascinated. ?Many of the diet and nutrition ideas I?d grown up with, like eating three balanced meals a day and never eating less than 1000 calories a day, seemed to be thrown out of the window. ?And, if Michael Mosley could improve his health overall in addition to losing weight, just by being (very) careful on two days of the week, well why shouldn?t try and see if I could do the same by following the 5-2 diet? ?My mother had uncontrolled diabetes and died from some of the complications that arise from that condition. ?My grandfather had alzeheimers. ?I don?t really have a family history of good health. ?Both of these conditions are claimed to improve by following the 5-2 diet. ?And, my lifestyle doesn?t really help with most diets ? I often eat out two or three nights of the week ? with the result that I?ve put on weight and developed something of a taste for rich food. ?So, I thought, it would be really worth having a go at the 5:2 diet and seeing if it could work for me.
The results? ?Well, I?ve lost about 12lbs since I started doing this in late August. ?And I?ve managed not to gain weight when I?ve been abroad, despite the focus of my trips being food and drink. ?I might have lost more weight over the 5 months but I?ve had a few breaks when I?ve been travelling or when I?ve had too many events to even manage two days of fasting. ?And, all in, I?m extremely pleased. ?I haven?t had to change my lifestyle ? I can still eat out, I can still drink (except on fast days) and I even get to eat chocolate when I want to!
I don?t find I suffer greatly on the 5-2 diet and I do generally feel better on the day after a fast day. ?Those cravings for sweet things seem to go a bit and I find I don?t want to eat as much. ?I?m planning to modify the diet a little for 2013 and try three days a week of fasting where possible because I?ve found that works well if you are trying to lose weight.

Peel and chop the ginger and the bulb of the lemon grass. Remove the chilli seeds and slice finely. Chop the coriander, keeping a few leaves back to garnish
Shred the turkey iwith your hands into matchstick sized pieces
Zest the lime and squeeze the juice
Put all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning by adding more lime juice, more chilli or a little more sugar till you have a hot and sour soup that suits your palate
Serve garnished with fresh coriander leaves |
For a more substantial soup, add noodles and vegetables (pak choi, shitake mushrooms, peas, spinach or ?sugar snap)
I?ve really enjoyed creating low calorie 5-2 diet friendly dishes. ?For example, this Tom Yum soup is my attempt at using up some of my turkey left-overs. ?Although most of us put on weight over Christmas, there are things you can do with your left over turkey that don?t involve vast quantities of cream or butter. ?And, it?s a very healthy meat with under 160 calories for 100g (that?s a normal portion). ?And this quick and easy soup will also work with prawns or chicken breast ? and is about 100 calories for a bowl. ? So cooking low calorie food for the 5-2 diet doesn?t have to be hard work. ?If you are still looking for inspiration, do check out the 5-2 diet recipe section of London Unattached. ?I?m updating it regularly with ideas!

CHICAGO -- James Harden scored 26 points and Jeremy Lin added 20 points and 11 assists to lead the Houston Rockets to a 120-97 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.
Omer Asik returned to the United Center and had a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds in his first trip back to Chicago since signing with the Rockets in the offseason.
The Rockets starters all scored in double figures. Chandler Parsons added 23 points and Marcus Morris had 10.
Houston has won six of seven.
The Rockets had been just 3-7 on the road entering Tuesday, but a strong second quarter turned the holiday matchup into a blowout. The Rockets outscored the Bulls 31-19 in the period to break the game open.
Lin capped a 14-2 run midway through the quarter with a drive and a layup to make it 55-34. He scored 12 in the second quarter and Harden had 13.
Houston led 58-41 at halftime.
Nate Robinson led the Bulls with 27 points, and Marco Belinelli scored 15.
Houston entered the game tops in the league in scoring at 105.4 points per game, while Chicago allowed the third-fewest in the league at 91.
Houston, though, was not slowed at all.
The Rockets pushed the pace and shot well against Chicago's defense. The Rockets outscored the Bulls 66-32 in the paint and 31-8 in transition. Their largest lead was 35 points.
The 120 points allowed and 23-point loss were season-worsts for the Bulls.
The Turkish-born Asik spent his first two years in the NBA with Chicago. He signed a three-year, $25 million offer sheet with the Rockets this summer that the Bulls did not match. He entered the game averaging 10.6 points and 11.4 rebounds, and put together perhaps his best game of the season.
Asik received a round of applause when he was introduced at the beginning of the game, but the hospitality didn't last. He quickly heard jeers when he stepped to the free throw line early in the first quarter.
Harden, fourth in the league in scoring, followed up two strong performances ? 37 points against Detroit and 45 against Atlanta ? with another strong game. He was 7 for 13 from the field and 11 for 13 from the free throw line.
Houston improved to 11-2 against the Eastern Conference.
The Bulls had won nine of 13 to climb into first place in the Eastern Conference's Central Division, but were flat for the second consecutive game. Chicago lost 92-75 Saturday in Atlanta.
Boos came down from the United Center crowd when Asik scored to make it 82-51 in the third quarter.
Chicago cut the Houston lead to 100-85 with just under eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter, but a 6-0 Rockets' run ended the rally.
NOTE: Both teams have quick turnarounds for Wednesday games. The Bulls travel to Indianapolis to play the Pacers and the Rockets visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In a recent silver market analysis, Dan Norcini notes that the top of the range in the above chart is from $35 to $35.50 while the bottom is in the $26.50 to $27 range. He sees ?very strong support? near $28 that extends to $26.50, which has ?proved to be rock solid in terms of buying support? for the last 15 months.
And referring to his euro/yen analysis from last week, updated here, he writes that ?it would not surprise me one iota to see another YEN CARRY trade develop this coming year with commodities benefiting from another influx of hot money chasing yield in this pitifully, obscenely low interest rate environment.?
?
And U.S. Global Investors? Frank Holmes sees ?Light at the end of the tunnel for gold.?? He references the above chart showing that ?gold seems to be approaching an oversold position after this latest correction. In standard deviation terms, the percentage change in year-over-year rolling returns, gold has made a downward move of 1.2 standard deviations. An event like this only happens about 10 percent of the time, with high odds favoring a reversion to the mean.?

Things are looking a lot more inspiring in this second part of the year. In this new season of fall and winter movies there should be something for everyone. There are action movies, family movies, Oscar worthy dramas, and some spicy comedies coming up in the next third of the year.
But it does. bancuri can help you to heal from depression and stress. It can even do more: if you make a habit of looking for laughter, it can even promote your long-term good health. It might even help you to find new kindred spirits with whom you can share your sense of humor. Anyone who can help you to again experience the whimsy, amusing ironies, joyfulness and chortles or even guffaws that spring out of living a positive life is worth keeping around.
Johnny Depp is the star of this movie. Intrigue, danger, and romance will become his nemesis in The Tourist, after he has a playful romance with a stranger. Frank (Depp), takes a trip to Europe to forget a bad love affair and meets Elise, with whom he involves himself in an encounter that has been engineered by Elise. A terrible game of cat and mouse ensues through Paris and Vienna as their romance evolves.
The pianists we see play appear to be the most formal and respectable stars on the stage. They hold the power and the breath of the audiences. They could look intimidating in their formal suits not to mention the authority and the air of arrogance they exude while on stage. They can be captivating.
There is an exercise I call the Pink Tu Tu tactic. Learn to use it on someone you fear, are angry at, or someone you feel has power over you. Simply visualize that person dancing in a bright neon pink Tu Tu. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and completely strip them of any power you thought they had over you.
There are benefits beyond the fun to this kind of silliness. Have you noticed that "going green" and saving money often involve the same behaviors? "Use it up. Wear it out. Recycle it." is good for both the environment and the pocketbook. And if you can find fun ways to do it, it's also good for your sense of well-being.
With the world going at a really crazy pace, people forget to stop and smile a bit. Most of these mistakes can be frustrating and depressing.

The first official Xperia Jelly Bean updates aren't expected until late February, but a leaked video has given us an early sneak peek at what to expect from upcoming Android 4.1-based firmwares from Sony. Vietnamese Sony community SonyViet has published a video of pre-release Xperia TL software in action, demonstrating a familiar Sony UI with some brand new features.
Among these is a new home screen launcher with new wallpapers, as well as new "Album" and "Movie" apps for photo and video content. There's also a new ClearAudio+ option for improving audio quality, a feature expected to ship in the upcoming Xperia V. Despite these new additions, the overall look and feel of the UI seems mostly unchanged from current ICS-based Xperia ROMs.
Sony is expected to show off a new 5-inch, 1080p-resolution handset at CES in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks, and it's likely that similar software will be running on this new handset. The device, rumored to be called the Xperia Z, is said to pack a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU and 2GB of RAM.

It may cost money to buy a domain name that you are happy with. Many of the good domain names are already taken, so you may not be able to get one that matches your company name. You can get any domain name you want if you have over a thousand dollars to spend. You should definitely weigh the pros and cons of this investment.
TIP! You can build a client list by using a squeeze page. Squeeze pages prompt visitors to provide their email.
Joining forces with a charity can help your business, increase your visibility and help the charity also. Choose a charity and give a set percent of your profits to that charity. This will give you free publicity, create good will and benefit your business and the charity. You can partner with more than a singular charity to give your costumer base a chance to choose which to support.
Be certain to make use of textual emphasis techniques as you plan your site?s layout. Tools like bold, italics, and underline are ways to make a word more important than the surrounding words. This can improve clarity and direct the focus of the reader.
Many people respond to titles. Don?t be afraid to let it be known that you are indeed the head honcho. Try labeling yourself as ?CEO? or ?President? of your business.
TIP! Current content is very important on your website. When people come to your website and see information that is dated, they think that the business is not performing and may be leery of initiating contact with you.
Don?t throw in the towel if you experience a few bumps on the road. Even if you are close to giving up do not do it! You may be so close to the prize. If you are designing a website, make sure you have done your research and are confident about the direction you are taking it in. At times, this can take a lot of effort. After you?ve found a tone that is particularly effective for your products and your customers, start employing it regularly and make all of your content consistent. This will pay off in the future with increased customer visits.

Make sure you utilize social media. Facebook fan pages give clients as well as customers a place to give feedback that anyone can view. Twitter can allow you to communicate informally with your customers.

TIP! Paper trading is a good way to lead up to stock market investing. This is good practice without losing any actual money.
Stock market investing is an activity that many people dream about, however, you should always proceed with caution. The following article will offer you many great tips to consider as you begin to buy stock, so you can get the most out of your money. Keep on reading so you can learn more.
TIP! A good goal for your stocks to achieve is a minimum of a 10 percent return on an annual basis, because any lower, you might as well just invest in an index fund for the same results. If the stock includes dividends you would simply add that percentage to the the growth rate percentage to determine the total likely return on the investment.
A broker who works with both in-person and online purchases is a good choice if you want to have the advice of a full-service broker, but would also like to do your own purchasing decisions. Doing so allows you to take on as much or as little responsibility as you would like. When you do this, you gain more control of your investments while still having that professional assistance.
TIP! Keep in mind items you use every day when thinking of stocks to buy. You should listen to your instinct.
It is important to consider a company?s voting rights when determining if you?d like to invest with them. Many times the corporate management team only hold five percent stock, but somehow manage to control seventy percent of the power when it comes to voting. When you find a company like this, this is usually a sign to keep away.
TIP! Basically when investing in stocks, the keep it simple approach works best. Reduce your risk by keeping all investment activities, including examining data points, predicting and trading, extremely simple.
The stock market is not a scheme to get rich quickly. To do well in the stock market, you must first learn about the market. You have to take a little time in order to make some mistakes. Then, learn from them. If you believe you?ll get rich overnight, you?ll be sadly disappointed.
TIP! Use an online broker if you don?t mind researching stocks on your own. You can find it cheaper using a virtual broker as opposed to a real broker, you can find a lot of discounts online.
One tip is to locate stocks that have growth rates slightly more than average, but not drastically so. They tend to have more reasonable prices for their value compared to high-growth stocks. High-growth stocks are typically in hot demand, which pushes prices up even higher and they ultimately have trouble meeting the inflated demands of money-hungry investors.
TIP! It can be better to buy many shares of affordable stocks instead of a few shares of pricier ones. These stocks are a lot easier to manage and sell.
Never keep your funds trapped in stocks that are unprofitable. While a stock may be steady and not losing or gaining, there is no reason to keep your money in it. Look for something with more consistent growth.
TIP! Remember you are buying ownership when you buy stocks. Some people buy a stock they hear is good, but keep in mind that you are purchasing a piece of that company.
Prior to placing funds with a professional broker, be sure you conduct sufficient research into their background. Carefully investigating before giving them your money helps you avoid unscrupulous and inexperienced brokers.
TIP! Consider the value of a stock, rather than its price. Is the stock suitable for holding over the long term? If the stock price is abnormally low, figure out why this is so you can determine whether or not it would be a good investment.
When you?re looking a diversifying your portfolio, remember that there are a lot of different factors to consider; it?s not just different sectors you need to worry about. You do not need to include all of these factors in your strategy for investing. You can assemble a collection of stocks from multiple sectors, each chosen based on a unique set of criteria.
TIP! Online stock trading can be a great way to invest while saving money. There are many firms online which offer very low fees.
Choose the top stocks in multiple sectors to create a well-balanced portfolio. Though the market, as a whole, records gains in the aggregate, individual sectors will grow at different rates. By having a wide arrangement of stocks in all sectors, you will see more growth in your portfolio, overall. If you re-balance your position on a continuous basis, your losses in the industries that are not growing or are losing ground is minimized. Furthermore, you can hold your position to prepare for the spurt of growth.
TIP! When analyzing a stock, find out its price/earnings ratio and compare it to the stock?s projected total return. A good rule of thumb is that the ratio of price to earning be less than two times the projected return.
There are a lot of great reasons to begin investing in the stock market. However, making smart investments and educating yourself must be your top priority. If you utilize the advice from this article, you should be on the right path to making sound financial choices.

Much of the Midwest is digging out after the first major snowstorm of the season dumped more than a foot of snow in some areas. Meanwhile, cancellations and delays are causing problems for travelers heading home for the holiday. NBC's John Yang reports.
By Miguel Llanos, NBC News
With Christmas around the corner and winter officially arriving Friday, travel headaches brought on by the first big storm of the season continued -- with disruptions now plaguing Northeast airports due to wind and rain after the Midwest was socked Thursday.
Across the country, more than 600 flights had been canceled and 7,300 delayed by Friday afternoon, according to FlightStats.com. The majority were in storm-impacted cities like Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, New York and Philadelphia.
Delays of an hour or more were reported?at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and La Guardia Airport in New York.
The combination of low clouds, rain and wind gusts up to 60 mph could trigger further disruptions at major airports, with those delays possibly continuing into Saturday.
Full storm coverage at Weather.com
At Chicago's O'Hare airport, travelers who spent Thursday night there included Patricia Oliver, who called her attempt to get from California to Waterloo, Iowa, "a nightmare."?
"They keep pushing us and bumping us and booting us back," she told NBCChicago.com. "We slept two nights on the floor."
Airlines on Thursday canceled more than 1,000 flights as the storm dumped up to 20 inches of snow across parts of the Midwest, caused blizzard conditions that led to seven deaths and even spawned a twister in Mobile, Ala., that damaged property.
In Iowa, two people were killed and seven injured Thursday in a 30-vehicle pileup on Interstate 35. Drivers were blinded by blowing snow and didn't see vehicles that had slowed or stopped, causing a chain reaction of crashes, state police said.
The storm was blamed for traffic deaths in three other states: two deaths each in Nebraska and Wisconsin; and one in Kansas.
In Utah, a woman who tried to walk for help after her car became stuck in snow died Tuesday night.?
Power outages caused by the storm continued Friday.?More than 320,000 homes and businesses were without power in the eastern half of the U.S.?The hardest hit states were Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York?and Wisconsin.
Outages that started Thursday also remained in Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska and Texas.
Although the storm has become largely a wind and rain event for much of the Northeast, the snow belts around the Great Lakes and Appalachians on Friday are likely to continue to see wind-whipped snow that could top a foot in many areas, Weather.com reported.
The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.
AAA predicts 93 million Americans will be traveling 50 miles or more this holiday weekend, and as a massive winter storm rolls across the mid-section of the country, travelers are concerned about delays that may affect the weekend. NBC's Tom Costello reports.

In the run-up to the New Year, Kobie Marketing has highlighted four trends that will give loyalty programs, brands and loyalty program providers a major boost. They include: digital/big data, personalization, mobile, and channel convergence ? this and our remaining posts for 2012 will dig a little deeper into each of these areas.
Considering Big Data continues to get big press, here?s our look at Big Data in 2012 and a peek into 2013.
Small Phrase With Big Impact
For a term that?s been around since 2008, (and whose beginnings stretch back much further) the phrase is starting to grow up. It?s in the news constantly. Google the expression and nearly 1 billion hits populate thousands of search pages. Big Data is a big deal for two reasons; the most obvious being the amount of actionable data ? channeled through smartphones and tablets ? generated by consumers, which is growing at breakneck speed.
And the second? The terabytes of data that are regularly being collected today, and expected to grow another 50-fold by 2020, mean nothing unless that data can be analyzed and acted upon.
Big Data is all About the Little Details
Today, managers can accurately track a host of metrics including SMS opt-ins, click rates, digital coupon redemptions, average price points, guest location in hotels, booking history, and even gender, (should they desire). Ideally collected anonymously, such a wealth of information helps brands across all verticals form a more accurate consumer picture, aiding loyalty management. The good news here is that many brands agree with this assessment. Nearly 88% of retailers ?strongly agree? or agree that Big Data use was critical to their 2012 ad spending. The question for 2013 is, will your brand be in that 88% and what ways of applying collected data are you already thinking of to improve the loyalty experience?
Analyze Your Company Before Your Clients
One way to begin that application process now before the Times Square New Years ball drops is to apply the tenets of Big Data inward first. That means a heightened sharing of internal data in an effort to prevent siloing, a critical corporate flaw for businesses of all sizes. Siloing is the process by which one department, say loyalty management, has little or no idea what the sales department is planning to pitch or if the IT department has the staff and resources available to launch the requested tech-centric campaign to begin with. What?s more, none of the said departments have actually shared timely and relevant data about their consumers with each other, resulting in weaker customer reward programs. Nor has there been a deep analysis done by the organization to learn how communication can be improved. For this task, consider outsourcing the research to a ?data scientist,? a professional title billed by an October 2012 Harvard Business Review article as ?The Sexiest Job of the 21st Century?? due to its increasing demand across multiple verticals ? far afield from traditional science.
In 2013 look for Big Data news to shift from growing comfort with the term to growing concern over how to actually act on the data collected. Bringing your company up to internal Big Data speeds first, however, ensures that your consumers will be the first to benefit when those analytics are applied to an improved, experience-driven loyalty program outward.
So will Big Data remain a big deal in 2013? You can count on it? and then act on it! Acting on Big Data in a personalized way will be the 2013 game changer that will greatly assist customer reward programs and enhance effective loyalty program management.
